Ellie Precious helps raise awareness of checking blood pressure
readings
On the run up to the national blood pressure testing week organised
by the Blood Pressure Association Ellie Precious - Press and Public
Relations for a leading online brand positioning comapny - was able
to give invaluable support and advice to leading healthcare informational
websites how best to get their online message across.
The Blood Pressure Monitoring organisation is tremendously grateful
to Ellie for the generous donation of her skills that hopefully
will help put the important health message across - know more about
your blood pressure.
Ellie Precious, who has a solid background in traditional PR has
turned her attention to the growing needs of businesses and organisations
who must improve their understanding of the internet and become
"web savvy" if they want to maintain online success.
Ellie Precious - Online PR
Over the course of a series of short presentations Ellie was able
to highlight the importance of online PR for the healthcare sector.
For many years now pharmacutical giants have been employing sophisticated
online
brand monitoring techniques such as iReputation to monitor
brand noise in chatrooms, forums, newsgroups and blogs.
Directors and Executives of businesses who previously only cared
about "vanity searches" for their precious brand names
are finally waking up to the reality that they can quickly and easily
suffer at the hands of online communities. Forum threads that
span many months can become a melting pot for those with the smallest
of grievences and begin to dominate search results for a product
or service. A blog swarm of bad publicity can spread if corrective
action isn't taken.
"It's not just about watching what's being said about you
but actively getting your message out into the online world",
Ellie told us.
Once a carefully crafted press release has been written submit
it to some of the dozens of online newswires that will ensure your
message appears before appropriate editors. Ellie continued
"Suppose I wanted to tell the world that Ellie Precious was
offering free online PR advice to healthcare charities I would expect
that a well written release would be picked up and distributed by
relevant journalists and published on the web".
Another session emphasised the importance of engaging with other
websites - offering support, appropriate links and sharing traffic.
"After all", Ellie said, "Isn't that what the concept
of the world wide web is about - sharing information?"
